designed by stefano giovannoni, with the collaboration of rumiko takeda, the “banana family” of helpful and intelligent monkeys grows in number and extends its functions. the “banana family” line maintains the high standards of decoration by hand and quality of materials set by the “Orientales” series, and they continue the collaboration with the national palace museum of taiwan, begun with the “Chin Family” collection.

banana king and banana queen are a salt grinder and a pepper grinder and are recognizable by the different head decorations (two leaves for the salt and a banana for the pepper), but actually they are completely interchangeable as banana king and banana queen have identical grinding mechanisms. they are made of injection-molded thermoplastic resin with a grinder made of ceramic, a material that is robust, washable, high quality and high precision. this type of material can grind salt, pepper, or any kind of spice. the absence of metal components eliminates corrosion, so maintaining the high qualitative standard of these utensils. the grinding size is regulated by adjusting a screw on the bottom.
